Why Peppermint Oil?

IMG_5484

Peppermint oil is underutilized (IMO). I’m one of those people that has good intentions, but sometimes buys things impulsively then doesn’t use them. It wasn’t until I became more serious about my investment in oils that I realized how useful and important they really are.

Last night I was having the worst headache and I thought to myself “I heard peppermint oil is a good oil for that, let me try it.” I had recently poured my peppermint oil into a roller ball because I think it’s easier for topical application. All I did was apply some on my head, and I immediately felt better. I’m also the kind of person that relies too heavily on things like Ibuprofen, and I really didn’t want to have to take that again if I can help it. It burned a little so if you’re trying this yourself I would dilute the oil with some water so that it’s not as strong. On the plus side peppermint oil smells a m a z i n g.

With Dotera oils, there are many that you can ingest (but please only do this with Doterra oils)! I’m not suggesting you put peppermint in your water because I don’t enjoy minty water, but it is good to apply on your toothbrush, and it gives your toothpaste and your mouth a bit of a boost. DIY mouthwash? Yes, please! Minty water is only good if you’re using it to rinse, otherwise I would steer clear, but that’s just my opinion. Dottera has plenty of oils good for internal use if you want to put them in your water! However, if you’re looking to spice up your hot coco, then yes, I 100% recommend putting some peppermint oil in it, you won’t regret it.

Peppermint oil has a way of releasing tension, which is why it is good for headaches. However if you’re someone who works on your feet all day, then this is also perfect to put on the arches of your feet to relieve some of that pain. It’s also good for anyone that experiences achy joints from carpel tunnel, arthritis, etc.

If you are going to apply this topically, Doterra already sells the peppermint oil in a roller ball that is already diluted, and it’s called the peppermint touch. If you’re interested in purchasing the oil, let me know and I can help you get started. If you haven’t already, I set up My Doterra site on the menu page if you would like to learn more, you can always ask me any questions if you may have them.
